Take note that only hands-on manual services like plumbers, miners, and electricians will be unaffected…suggesting a blight on college education and higher degrees, as vocational training comes roaring back big time. This is already noticeable as $40,000 plus tuition and housing costs for one year at a college that indebit families and students for life have become unpalatable. Handsfree surgery governed by AI computers will change the role of surgeons. Diagnosis will no longer be biased, confined and restricted to one doctor’s limited experience, but compiled from global data for effective curative accuracy.

Priests maybe survive the onslaught, but secret confessions will be digitized to then dispense holy communions.

Authors (novelists,journalists,screenplay writers, and their proofreader editors) will be severely impacted to near extinction. Why pay an editor $5000 to proofread a 300 page novel if ChatGPT or Prowriting Aid does it for free.

Reworded plagiarism will haunt the literary world and copyright issues will log jam the courtrooms. Libraries will have to specify live authorship for contests. Self-publishing now easily eclipses the Big Five Publishing Houses.

The changes to society will be immense and exponentially rapid. The generation gap will widen whereby grandchildren will have little to say or do with their elders, replaced by AI Counselors freely consulted on a personal cell phone. “Should I date this guy even though he’s a jerk?” asks the teenybopper. Imagine increased separation and isolation so that AI Bots serve as mates for companionship, so perfect that every physical and emotional need will be provided for at a fraction of the cost for supporting a spouse or kids. That’s the day when ChatGPT and AI will sadly confirm Paul Sartre’s comment, “Hell is other people.”

That will be the sign of the End Times.
