Today, whenever a priest boldly preaches that the liberal bishops are “Blind guides of blind men” (Matt 15:14) or “White washed sepulchers full of dead men’s bones over which men walk unawares” (Matt 23:27), virtual persecution, scourging, and crucifixion closely follows to shut him down.
Meet a canceled priest, muzzled for speaking out against a lax Catholic hierarchy more devoted to a gilded mansion, a chauffeured limousine, and flaunting a jeweled gold ring, conferrng high nobility and eminent power.
Fr Altman (JFaltman.org) is one of today’s many canceled priests. They are not accused of sexual abuse of minors, embezzelment, adultery, and fornication. Fr Altman is among those few modern day prophets who, like the Biblical Isaiah and Jeremiah, have been virtually sawed in half, or were stoned for their daring to preach the undiluted truth to a confused people.
His ilk is today forced to find room and board wherever they can, often working odd jobs, sometimes hiding in figurative ‘priest holes’ secretly provided by a few wealthy conservative Catholics.
It’s sadly similar to what occurred in King Henry VIII’s brutal reign, when the Catholic hierarchy swiftly offered loyalty oaths to a worldly Protestant king who threatened to behead them if they refused to kiss his ring.
The Catholic hierarchy today is doing the same, bending the knee to the demands of a tyrannically corrupt world, so as to preserve their status.
