“VATICAN CITY — Pope Leo XIV weighed in on U.S. politics, saying that Catholic politicians must be judged on the full range of their policy positions and suggesting the country’s treatment of immigrants is inhuman. 

“Someone who says I’m against abortion but is in favor of the death penalty is not really pro-life,” Pope Leo said. “And someone who says I’m against abortion but I’m in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States, I don’t know if that’s pro-life.” 

Pope Leo XIV has declared that the deportation of illegal immigrants and the death penalty are inhuman.

These remarks represent this first American pope’s first foray as pontiff into his native country’s pitched debates over abortion, immigration, and the Catholic Church’s role in civil society.

Essentially, he’s declaring that anyone who is against abortion but for the death penalty and illegal immigrant deportation is not Pro-Life.

Here’s the unrevised Catholic Catechism that was in compliance with all previous popes, prior to our new global abolitionists, Pope Francis, and Pope Leo XIV, catering and succumbing to new age Globalism.

Paragraph 2267 stated that the death penalty was an “appropriate response” and an “acceptable, albeit extreme, means of safeguarding the common good.”

 My view: give ‘Dead Men Walking’ 3 hours with a priest for Absolution, then press full delete.

As for deporting illegal immigrants, those who have maintained civil laws and earned their way … paying their taxes, etc, humane treatment should include allowing them a legal means to obtain residency with the goal of citizenship. However, the repeat rapists, murderers, and thieves among them deserve no such leniency; though their humane treatment during deportation should be standard protocol. 

The Catholic Catechism, specifically paragraph 2241, addresses immigration by affirming that while individuals have a right to immigrate for security and livelihood, nations have the sovereign right to regulate their borders and control immigration by setting juridical conditions.

The Church also emphasizes a duty to welcome the foreigner, but within the limits of a nation’s ability and responsibility to care for its own citizens’ common good. This teaching balances the rights of immigrants with the rights and responsibilities of host nations, refuting any notion of unconditional “open borders” while still calling for charity and respect for human dignity. 

My view: show illegals who have been outstanding contributors the path to citizenship. Deport the rabble.
