Advanced technology with its birth control devices has encouraged the unrestrained indulgence of passions, which once addicted are difficult to stop. Self-mastery is the only acceptably natural contraceptive. The Rhythm Method is prep school for gradually achieving higher levels of grace in married couples. Single men and women are to practice chastity.
The Church is not at fault for overpopulation and infant deaths in poor countries– Man’s carnal addiction is to blame.
Melinda arrived at her crisis of faith when faced with chastity’s self-denial versus libertine lust. She realized most people could not casually justify warring against fleshly desires, but would usually boomerang to gross over-indulgence. She and most liberals figure it’s far more practical to issue free contraceptives because humanity is much too weak to restrain itself. So now she with other misled elite donate their billions to Mammon.
The Church’s holy doctrine contradicts the world’s bias. Despite all the contraceptives — birth control pills, IUDs, chastity belts, and Trojans, — man’s carnal lust persists. Nothing has changed in human nature, and never will, no matter how much better we are educated or churched.
She lost her faith after listening to false liberal priests, Fr Rohr, and likely others, who cater to the worldly ear and its lusts. However, the Church’s holy doctrine will always contradict the world, for the few who love Truth.
Many are called, but few respond to grace (cf. Matt 22:14).
